  3. I also think that a question like this, and in particular when you ask a question like this, you have to consider the circumstances behind it. To be fair, one of the reasons I would agree on Joseph Conrad, is because I happen to be reading “Victory” at the time. He seems like one of those writers that every time I read him, I get completely amazed at how much I am pulled inside the world he creates.

    But it is all arbitrary anyway, it’s like asking who was the greatest guitarist.
