MFA Collective A creative writing magazine written by students in creative writing programs.

The Writing Workshop at The University of Memphis is the premier creative writing program in the South. With concentrations in Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, and Poetry, the program features an award-winning national literary journal, The Pinch, and the River City Writers Series, one of the oldest and most prestigious writers series in the country. Students work in small groups with nationally recognized authors.

Readings, cultural and recreational activities, and other events outside the classroom foster a sense of community among students and faculty. Students have opportunities to teach creative writing locally and abroad. Our graduates have gone on to publish books, win awards, and teach in universities around the country.
